I'm Tommy Lee. I came to the United States from Korea in 2015, served in the Korean army, and found my way to building with AI. I aspire to be an awesome applied AI engineer.

I recently graduated from Villanova in May 2026, and I build with AI every day. The years since I arrived in the United States have been one long climb, across countries, a language, the army, and now a field I love. This is how I got here.
The long way here
I grew up in South Korea and moved to the United States in 2015, as a teenager. A new country and a new language meant starting over, and learning fast.
From January 2021 to July 2022 I served in the Republic of Korea Army at the Joint Security Area inside the DMZ, the line between two Koreas. I coordinated over 100 joint missions between US and Korean forces. It taught me discipline, ownership, and how to stay steady under pressure.
Back at Villanova I studied Management Information Systems and Business Analytics. In October 2025 I fell in love with AI, and I have not stopped building since, shipping real projects week after week.
I graduated in May 2026, and I will be working as an AI and Systems Analyst.
